Jim Laurier


Jim Laurier est né à Laconia, New-Hampshire (USA) et a grandi dans le New-Hampshire et le Massachusetts. Il est allé à l'école des Arts Paier à Hamden, Connecticut pendant les années 70.  Jim préfère travailler à l'huile sur toile, avec beaucoup de réalisme dans ses peintures. Jim est un fervent d'aviation et un pilote depuis longtemps. Il combine son amour de l'histoire avec ses expériences du vol pour créer des peintures d'aviation très réalistes et historiquement très précises. Il est largement reconnu pour son souci de l'exactitude et son attention aux détails techniques, qui sont devenues ses " marques de fabrique". Les peintures de Jim ont été exposées dans divers musées (dont le Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum à Savannah, Géorgie, USA), bases aériennes militaires, expositions d'art et même au Pentagone depuis 1992.Jim a eu beaucoup de récompenses comme par exemple deux "Par Excellence Awards"  de l'Association d'Aviation Expérimentale et une récompense du Musée de l'Aéronavale des États-Unis. Jim est également devenu illustrateur de sujets militaires dans beaucoup de livres et de magazines.
Jim Laurier is born in Laconia, New-Hampshire (USA) and grew up in New-Hampshire and Massachusetts. He attended Paier School of Art in Hamden, Connecticut in the 70's.  Jim prefers to work in oils on linen, with realism in his paintings. Jim is a long time aviation enthusiast and pilot. He combines his love of history with his flying experiences to create some of the most realistic and historically accurate aviation paintings. He is widely known for his technical accuracy and attention to detail, which have become the trademarks of his work.
Jim's paintings have been displayed at various museums (including The Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum in Savannah, Georgia), Military air bases, art shows and even in The Pentagon since 1992.
Jim has won many awards like for example two "Par Excellence Awards" from the Experimental Aircraft Association and an award from the U.S. Naval Air Museum. Jim has also become an illustrator of military subjects in many books and magazines.

"B-29 'EDDIE ALLEN' SUPERFORTRESS"
Boeing B-29 nommé 'Eddie Allen' en mémoire du pilote d'essai Edmund T. 'Eddie' Allen qui perdit la vie avec son équipage lors d'un essai du prototype Boeing XB-29 le 18 février 1943. Ce B-29 'Eddie Allen' fut payé par les donations des employés de l'usine Boeing de Wichita.
Boeing B-29 nicknamed 'Eddie Allen' in memory of the test pilot Edmund T. 'Edie Allen' who lost his life with his crew during a test flight of the prototype XB-29 on February 18th, 1943. This B-29 'Eddie Allen' was paid by donations of the employees of Boeing manufacture at Wichita.
